SPARC had done a pretty good job marketing to me throughout the last month. In all of my communications classes, I was constantly reminded about the festival and learned more about it everyday. However, I feel like it did not hold a very large social media pretense. I say that because I only saw it on social media one time, two days before the festival. Every other marketing towards me was done on campus. I believe that the in person marketing is good but online marketing could be a lot better. I think if the school could get more students to repost advertisements for it on social media that would give the social presence a lot better of a look.

My blog is about sports and its current events, so I made this logo and slogan to emphasize what my message is to my audience. Although this image was taken from google, I still believe it is pretty original for a blog logo.

As of now, the future for my life after college is very unclear. This past year after quite a few injuries I realized that my lacrosse playing days will soon come to an end and I need to figure out what I will do as a career. Ive been thinking that I will most likely enter the world of marketing. A job that really pays well with marketing is medical sales. With medical sales being my main aspiration for my career, I also have been thinking of becoming involved with sports marketing for companies such as New Balance or Nike. While medical sales does not utilize social media as a marketing tool very often, sports marketing utilizes social media very frequently because their target consumers would usually see products they're interested in via social media which allows these companies to take advantage of that. As I mentioned, my future career is not planned out as much as other peoples but with my degree in communications and marketing, I believe that will allow me to explore many o

With my original plan of keeping my blog about current events in sports, id like to utilize this blog post to express that. With that being said, I am going to write about March madness and what has happened in the last two days. First off, I am not an avid college basketball fan but march madness just hits different every year. Im not one to make a bracket because it is always unpredictable and based off what has happened so far, I am glad I didn't. Yesterday, a small school in Jersey city called Saint Peters beat the powerhouse Kentucky which is one of the greatest upsets in the tournament. This game was an instant classic and extremely fun to watch. Before the Kentucky game, Richmond upset Iowa who a lot of people had going to the final four. These two games alone completely destroyed everyones brackets. Another upset that a lot of people aren't talking about is Michigan, who was the 11th seed, beating Colorado State who was the the 6th seed. I find it odd that a lot of peo

This class has been actually very enjoyable for me this semester. All of our lessons have been relatively interesting but the concept that interested me the most was the media log concept. This is because it made me conscious to my social media habits and how much time I actually spend on these platforms. When it comes to the most boring concept we have learned about I would have to say it is the cancel culture. It is not even that boring but the reason I chose this concept is because I already know so much about it because I live in the world of cancel culture so learning about something I already know is just rather boring to me.  When it comes to what concept I will apply to the real world it is my social media log results and observations. By counting my hours on screens it allowed me to see how much time was productive and how much time was wasted which taught me that I need to be more productive on my screens.  I chose this very generic google image because it shows what producti

In this weeks blog, the topic that really stood out to me was to reflect on my own social media content. It made me realize that the only platform I actually post on is instagram and sometimes snapchat. Before this past December, I had not posted a picture on instagram since may which I found a little weird because normally I post pretty consistently.  Since my "comeback" post in December, I have posted four more times and it consisted the same content I was posting a year prior which is lacrosse pictures and pictures of me and my girlfriend. I believe that those two things reflect the main things in my life and that's why I post them. The people I wanted to see these pictures when I posted them are basically just my old high school friends to kind of give them an update on how my life is going and I always get a great response in the comment sections.  When it comes to my snapchat, I usually just post pictures of me and my friends when I'm out at the bar or at parti

The media log assignment was a very eye opening project. It allowed me to truly focus on how much time I was spending on technology and I was actually very surprised at how little time I spent looking at screens. In my opinion however, I think that knowing I'm logging in my hours, my screen time was reduced because I became very conscious of how much time I was spending.  Another aspect to consider for my low screen time is the time of year for me. Right now I am in season for lacrosse and have early morning practices which means Im going to sleep a lot earlier than I normally do. I am extremely curious as to how many hours I spend on social media, especially TikTok, during the summer time when I am not as busy and going to bed very late because I always caught myself at late times like four in the morning, just scrolling through TikTok Overall, I believe that my screen time is at a healthy stage right now. I obviously would like to keep it like that but I know that once the seaso
